The Outdoor Advantage
Billboards offer significant advantages over other kinds of advertising
through their relatively low cost per ad impression (measured by cost
per thousand or CPM), providing greater frequency of exposure and
geographic targeting.
Low CPM
Billboards allow you to reach your target market at a very low relative
cost per ad impression. Provincal Highway Vehicle Counts* confirm
the following number of viewers for your ads in the following areas:
Victoria 99,960 viewers per day
Duncan (Dougan's Lake) 68,200 viewers per day
Duncan 74,300 viewers per day
Nanaimo (Ivy Green) 74,300 viewers per day
Nanaimo (Nanoose Bay) 64,800 viewers per day
Compare your cost per thousand viewers per day as provided by a billboard
versus other forms of media. Radio Advertising: approximate cost $2,000.00
for a ten day run with approx. about 30 spots at 30 seconds each.
Television: approximate cost $3,500.00 per week week for about 20
spots at 15 seconds each. Newspaper, Magazines: approximate cost $300.00
each insertion. Production costs for the ad creative are added to
the cost to run the ads.
Frequency
There is no remote control to turn off a billboard. Commuters and
local travellers may pass your billboard over and over again over
the course of a campaign. The more often a consumer is given the opportunity
to view and consider purchasing your product or service, the more
likely he or she is likely to do so.
Geographic Targeting
With billboard advertising, you control who views your ad since you
control where it will be placed. Television and Magazines don't offer
the same effective geographic targeting.
